His analysis was low to dead compression (meaning engine is dead). Luckily I got the bad news from home and he was savvy enough to look up engine replacement prices for me on the spot. I had to communicate with him before the job, and to say that the communication was good is an understatement. He responded to the message I typed into this website in about 60 seconds. He came to my house in the evening, so I didn't have to take time off from work. It saved me an unpleasant trip to the dealer, which would have probably taken up most of my Saturday. I also saved a significant amount of money. It's worth noting that changing a headlight bulb on a Miata is a lot harder than it sounds.
