Hi, my name is Richard McCarthy. I have a versatile mechanical background that spans approximately 15 years. I started out serving 7 years active duty as a turbojet/fan and fuel-related system mechanic/troubleshooter working on flight deck carrier operations for the US Navy. After serving my time honorably, I switched my path from aircraft to the automotive industry. As a civilian, I attained three ASE certifications: A1 engine repair, A6 electrical, and A4 brakes while receiving an Associate of Science in Automotive Technology from City College of San Francisco. From there, I have worked on everything from commuter cars to heavy construction specialty equipment. I love to do engine repair, preventive maintenance work, brakes and electrical. I bring an aeronautical standard to this industry and have the highest integrity forged from three tours aboard the USS Nimitz for Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.

One of his other appointments ran overtime and would likely have made him late to my appointment. Instead of just showing up late, he took the time to call me ahead of time to see if he could reschedule rather than do rushed work. He came out early on a Saturday morning, did a great & thorough job, made sure all of my questions were answered, and gave me suggestions on future services. I booked him for the follow-up service, and would do so again!

Richard was only supposed to stay for 3 hours. That was the slotted time for Richard to complete the job within the price range, but instead of cutting out when it was 4 hours in on the install, he checked his options. Called technician support and was told that he would have to raise the price for the added time of the job. He didn't want to do that to me as the customer so instead of cutting out and leaving at 4 hours, he stayed for 9 hours total in order to complete the job. He wasn't half assing anything either, every single minute of the 9 hours was him being focused and determined and thorough, there was not bolt left behind. He didn't only get the job done, but he did it with a smile and was personable and had a positive attitude the whole painstaking time. No other technician would go above and beyond in the same way that Richard has. He literally had to take off each engine mount and drop the engine on my driveway, he made a way when there was no way. Guys this is excellence at its finest. If you ever need a technician to work on something CALL RICHARD. P.S. HONDA CR-V's are evil.
