Some cars are equipped with an air injection system to reduce engine emissions. The air injection hoses inject extra air into the car’s exhaust system to convert C0 into C02. The air injection hoses deteriorate over time and need to be replaced.

The air injection system should be inspected during routine maintenance and servicing. Any time you have a component of the air injection system replaced, the air injection hose should be checked. Air injection hoses can grow brittle and crack over time, so it’s important to have the system serviced and inspected with regularity.
An air injection system is responsible for injecting extra air into your vehicle’s exhaust system. The system pulls air from outside the vehicle, and pumps it through the air injection hose, and into the exhaust system, where it helps convert carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide. If your air injection hose breaks, the necessary amount of air will not be added into the car’s exhaust system. This is unlikely to result in an immediately noticeable change in your car, but it will lower the vehicle’s emissions. A cracked or broken air injection hose means your vehicle is polluting more, and is unlikely to pass an emissions inspection.
