Finally, a best mechanic comes into my life. Peter is the hero. He saved my car's engine by diagnosing the wrong-doing of previous mechanic, and re-do all the service in the professional and, most important, correct way.
What happened was that the check engine light was on after the previous mechanic adjusted the valve clearance in a hurry, and I got the misfire codes on all 6 cylinders. The engine ran roughly. I called the customer service for the warranty service. Luckily I found Peter's profile and felt more confident by his experience. So requested to send Peter to do the warranty inspection. Peter called in advance and arrived earlier. He quickly found the root cause, and took care of all paperwork to schedule to redo the work for me. On the day of work, he also arrived earlier, and get the work do in the right way. Now the misfiring goes away, and the engine runs more smoothly.
During the work, Peter also explains to me what he found and provided his recommendation. I was impressed by his rich knowledge and experience. PETER IS THE BEST MECHANIC IN THE VALLEY! I will always request for Peter for any future work and refer him to my friends and coworkers.
Check is awesome. He has serviced all of my family vehicles. He is honest, dependable, and thoughtful in his diagnostics and handles repairs quickly and efficiently.
John showed up even earlier than the appointment time, which is always a good thing. He was courteous, professional, and unlike a lot of younger "specialized" mechanics, has a vast knowledge of all automobiles--old and new. As a fellow old-schooler, I can appreciate his experience and expertise in handling situations, even when Murphy's Law--what can go wrong will go wrong--comes into play. I've known younger mechanics who, if something doesn't go "as the manual describes," can't use critical thinking skills to tackle a dilemma. Given that this work was performed in the field instead of a fully equipped repair shop and that the job was done with diligence and excellence, I'd trust his work more than any "millennial" who can only go by the book. Of course, there are certain limitations to what can be done on site. For this, I'd typically give an 8 of 10 likelihood to recommend him to a friend or colleague. But, if the job is within his scope of practice and the requisite tools are accessible, I'd definitely recommend him as a "10" for the appropriate repairs. I believe that yourmechanic.com would not send him (or any other mechanic) to a job for which he is not properly equipped, so that should never be an issue.
