If the brake lights are stuck on you could have a bad brake switch on your pedal also you can unplug the switch to charge your battery
the switch is on the brake pedal arm should be a black switch

there is a littel plastic stopper that turns off the brake switch it could be missing if the lights are staying on

did you see if the stop that turns off the brake switch is missing or not
If the brake lights are stuck on the car might not have power because it thinks you are trying to stop
