The price for checking is right in line.
It could be either an EGR issue or bad cat converters not reducing the NOX to the correct level.
Let me check.

OK, NOX is controlled by the operation of the EGR valve as it lowers the temperature inside the cylinders to reduce the production of NOX.
Then the cat converter take the remaining NOX gases and changes them to harmless gases coming out the tail pipe.
Who ever checks it need to see if the EGR system is working as well as the cat converters.

Check engine light. See if it passed. If there were codes, that would have also failed.

When was your last oil change? Dec of last yr my NO Levels are too high and I don't have the codes with me at the moment Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your GS 300 yourself? What have you tried so far? So far I have just called around to a couple of local auto repair shops to get pricing.... i was told $120-$135 just to look at it
